Madrid, October 19, 2022 - Madrid's Vice Mayor, Begoña Villacís, returned to the Video Game Campus on Wednesday to introduce Madrid in Game, the new brand accompanying various initiatives focused on promoting the video game and gamification industry in the capital and making it a global leader in the sector.
As the Vice Mayor explained, "With Madrid in Game, we promote the ecosystem necessary for people to create and develop opportunities and find them in the city of Madrid. This is what we had in mind when we launched the Video Game Campus, an industry on the rise, and we aim to contribute to changing the perception of video games from mere entertainment to a viable industry, for which the capital seeks recognition."
With this new identity, Madrid joins the game to further enhance the innovative capacity of the city, its professionals, and citizens through two strategic pillars: the Video Game Cluster, which brings together the entire ecosystem of companies and training centers in the sector, and the Video Game Campus, which includes a project incubator-accelerator, an Esports high-performance center, and an experiential pavilion housing the Video Game Museum.
Another significant announcement during the event was Madrid in Game's official sponsorship of the Spanish eSports team, which will represent Spain in prestigious competitions such as the Bali World Championship and the SimRacing World Championship for Assetto Corsa final in Monaco.
